South Fresno Outdoor Adventures

Connecting Students to Parks, Waterways, and Possibility

South Fresno Outdoor Adventures (SFOA) is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to outdoor recreation, environmental education, and public lands for youth in southeast Fresno and the greater South Valley.

At SFOA, we believe outdoor spaces should be welcoming and accessible to everyone. We value community, safety, environmental stewardship, and youth leadership, and we work closely with families, schools, and like-minded partners to create meaningful outdoor experiences. Our programs are designed not only to introduce youth to the outdoors, but to give them the skills and confidence to return independently long after the program ends.

Students participate in community service projects in our neighborhoods and our public lands to practice leadership principles and Leave No Trace ethos. Our main project partner locally is Beautify Fresno. Click to join us in our mission to make a more beautiful Fresno

Operation Outdoor Independence

We are very proud to announce that SFOA was selected to receive a Route 2 Parks grant from ParksCA. The goal of Operation Outdoor Independence is in the name- we want to teach this generation of students how to access and enjoy the outdoors so they can train the next.
